The Story Behind the Surface
Lungarno started with a simple frustration: tile that looked good in the showroom and fell flat everywhere else. So we set out to make something different — ceramic and tile collections that hold their own in real rooms, with real light, and real life happening around them.
The name comes from the lungarni — the riverside walkways lining the Arno in Florence, where the architecture isn’t trying to impress you. It just does. That same restraint runs through everything we make: patterns with purpose, finishes that age honestly, colorways pulled from places where beauty isn’t manufactured but inherited.
We work with ceramicists who treat the craft like it deserves — no shortcuts, no decorative gimmicks meant to photograph well and wear poorly.
